Product Description

This Gibson 1959 Les Paul Historic Reissue VOS Electric Guitar is unique because of its special Extra Faded Cherry finish. Only 25 were built for the entire world. In 1959, the Les Paul Standard made a change to wider, fatter jumbo frets, which made it a more facile guitar. The significance of this change wouldn’t be felt until the late ’60s when Clapton, Bloomfield, Peter Green, and other emerging guitarists discovered its warm, thick BurstBucker voice and fast, smooth and easy-playing neck. Then the Les Paul began its ascent toward ultimate icon status. Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Series instruments, the 1959 Les Paul Historic Reissue is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitrocellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently aged vintage guitar. Includes Gibson Custom Shop case and a certificate of authenticity.

With only 25 made for the entire world, this is a rare guitar.   This would make an excellent addition to any collection or a great player.  Being a ’59 reissue you know you’ll get a great sound out of it, but it’s so good looking you might spend as much time looking at it as playing it.

If you’re looking for a Les Paul with a ridiculously gorgeous top, this is 100% the guitar for you.  The way the flame jumps off this guitar when the light hits it makes it look 3D.  The big fat flames are very well bookmatched.  Our guitar is definitely one of, if not the sweetest R9’s on the planet. It has an absolutely killer flame-top with a deep 3D pattern.  You will hard pressed to find a better looking ‘59 Les Paul.
